White Shells introduces Mount Coolum
Our seaside location in Marcoola is just minutes away from one of Australia’s hidden treasures. Mount Coolum, an isolated circular volcanic dome, 208 metres in height proudly displays itself to us. This Volcanic rock over 25 million years old is home to natures best.
This mountain is declared a national park has been intensely studied and over 700 plant types have been documented. These include 590 flowering plants, 49 fern types of which is 40% of all fern families living on earth today. There are also over 100 other plant species including mosses, lichens and liverworts.
